- Apples originated from the mountainous regions of Central Asia.
- Apples were consumed at least as far back as 8000 years ago.
- There are more than 7000 varieties of apples grown throughout the world and come in all shades of reds, greens, and yellows. Three of the most popular are Red Delicious, Granny Smith and Golden Delicious.
- Apple trees take four to five years to produce their first fruit.
- Apples are a good source of several antioxidants, including quercetin, catechin, and chlorogenic acid.
